Como todas las artes y disciplinas, los videojuegos también cuentan con su propio evento en el que se reconoce a lo mejores títulos del año: The Game Awards.
No se trata de una ceremonia con carácter oficial (respaldada por una academia o gremio), pero sí es la que más acerca a tenerlo, y por ello es que toda la industria y medios especializados voltean a verla.
Los nominados para la edición 2019 , que tendrá lugar el 12 de diciembre, ya han sido revelados y la lista es liderada por Death Stranding, con un total de 10 nominaciones, título que compite en la categoría Juego del año contra titanes como Resident Evil 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate y Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
